Visual Elements
Visual elements are the characteristics of a photograph. The 6 elements are lines, shape, form, space, texture and colour.
The lines of a photograph is one of the most important elements when taking photos. Lines draw the viewers attention and make certain objects stand out. Two examples of lines in a photograph would be fences and roads.
Shape and form makes an object stand out in the photograph.
Space is the area around the shape or form. Using space you can make smaller objects appear larger and larger objects appear smaller.
Texture adds detail to the photo and can be highlighted using light and shadow.
Colour can effect the emotion of the viewer, vibrant colours will make the viewer feel an energetic vibe while less bright colours are more soothing to look at.
