Movement Photography
My theme for this project is 'Movement' I have chosen this theme because it seems the most interesting and fun to create. There are different ideas and aspects on this theme, such as liquid movement, action shots and light trails, this theme interests me the most. I will start by researching and experimenting with the main ideas of this theme above, then from there I will come up with an overall idea by combining the elements above.

SHOOT 1
For my first shoot I experimented with water, learning how Bob Martin created his images. I used a fast shutter speed and my camera on the setting 'movement' to capture the shots below. I also experimented with different filters such as the black and white photograph. I used Photoshop to convert the image by selecting Image -> Adjustments -> Black and White.

EBI:- To take close-up images and try to make the water move more for a more interesting outcome.

SHOOT 2
In this photo shoot I worked on producing close up images of the water. I used a straw to make bubbles and allow the water to splash, making the photographs more interesting. I also experimented with lighting. I added squash to the water in order the make the images more colourful.
WWW:- The photographs are close-ups and are more interesting as I wanted.
EBI:- I could of added different liquids/colours to the water.

SHOOT 3
While looking at Bob Martin's work involving people, I thought of how it may be interesting to capture the movement of animals instead. To do this shoot I took photographs of my dog while throwing a ball. This enabled me to capture images while my dog was jumping to catch it.

Richard Thompson
Richard Thompson is an automotive photographer based in Los Angeles. He works for many well-known clients such as Ferrari and Mercedes for advertisement. His work is also featured in magazines such as Top Gear. Thompson takes photographs of vehicles in movement. The photographer's work features these vehicles in interesting perspectives and landscapes.
The photograph selected was taken from the back of the car. The formal elements of the image are colour, line, shape and composition. The colours used are red, green, yellow, black and silver. I like how there is a contrast between the vehicle and the background. The fact that the vehicle is focused makes it stand out against the background due to the background being blurred. I will apply this technique in my work to make certain objects more obvious to the viewer.
I like how the colours used are quite bright. I also like how the sunlight reflects off the car. To improve the photograph Thompson could have featured a bit more of the car to display the lines of the vehicle in order to make the image more interesting for the viewer.

SHOOT 4
In this shoot I used Richard Thompson's style to inspire me to create my own automotive styled photographs. I went to a car festival to capture the following photographs.

SHOOT 5
For this photoshoot I looked at taken photographs of vehicles again. This time I looked at planes. To do this shoot I went to a car festival where they also had a plane performance happening. This idea was inspired by Thompson.

EBI:- If the some of the pictures were clearer.

Edited versions of some of the photographs above:-
I used Photoshop to edit the photographs from above. I increased the contrast, vibrancy, saturation and brightness in the images. I also experimented with changed the filter to black and white to create a bigger contrast between the tones. To do this I clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Black and White.
SHOOT 6
For this shoot I wanted to experiment with the movement of animals and insects. From this experiment I decided that I preferred the photographs of the vehicles moving rather than animal.

Final Piece
I decided to use the following photograph as my final piece. This is because it links to my researched photographers and relates to the theme motion. The photograph links to Bob Martin by featuring people. I chose the black and white filter because it creates a greater contrast between the car and the background.
