Enquiry Challenges
Here you will find my enquiry challenges that I have completed at home and in school over the next two years.
Light Trails:-
Final Piece
For my final piece I chose one of the photographs from above. I chose this image because I liked how clear the light trail was and how the light gradually blurred out to the background. This gives the image a smokey effect.
I then edited this image in Photoshop. I firstly cropped the image. Next I clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness/Contrast and changed the brightness to +2 and the contrast to +100. After that I clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Vibrance and increased the vibrance to +100 and the saturation to +10.

Aperture
Aperture is one of 'the three pillars' of photography the other two being ISO and Shutter Speed. Aperture is the opening within a lens that lets the light through to the camera. Aperture adds a dimension to a photograph, by blurring the background or by bringing the whole image into focus. The iris of the lens that controls the size of the aperture is called the 'Diaphragm'. The purpose of the Diaphragm is to block light except the hole that the light is to shine through. Aperture is expressed in f-numbers for example f/5.6.
Rule Of Thirds
The rule of thirds is a technique used to create a good photograph. It is a 3 by 3 grid which allows the photographer to make the image even, so there is not a crowded area of the photo. This balances the photo. The grid provides a separate section for the object or the background. It is useful to photographers as their pictures will look interesting and dynamic for the viewer. Below shows an example of this technique.
My Example Of The Rule Of Thirds Below.
Final Piece
I edited the image above using Photoshop to create a final outcome of experimenting with the rule of thirds. Firstly, I clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness/Contrast and increased the brightness to 3 and the contrast to 100. Next I clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Vibrance and changed the vibrance to -12 and the saturation to +11. I wanted my final piece to be bright so I experimented with changing the colours. I then clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation and changed the colour to pink.
Shutter Speed
This is my example of a freeze photo using 1/3200 shutter speed. I used pens to create this photograph. I like how there are different colours featured however the image is quite dark.
Final Piece
I edited the image above using Photoshop. First of all I cropped the image. Next I clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness/Contrast and changed the brightness to 150 and the contrast to 100. I then clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Vibrance and changed the vibrance to -100 and the saturation to 100.
For the following image I clicked Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation and changed the saturation to 100. With this experiment I discovered that it make the background multicoloured which I thought was quite a cool aspect.
